Terms of Service
Effective October 14, 2026. If this English version differs from the Korean version, the Korean version governs, except that for payments made on the English site, Articles 6-2 and 6-3 of this English version (amounts in US dollars, paid through PayPal) govern.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These terms set the conditions for using IP DABOM (the "Service"), operated by ESUNG IP&LAW FIRM (the "Firm").
Article 2 (The Service)
- Trademark search: based on the keywords and related goods/services you set, we search Korean trademark applications and publications for identical or similar marks and send you a periodic search report (every 7 days by default).
- Tracked trademarks: when the examination status of a trademark you saved changes (publication, registration, refusal, opposition period, etc.), we notify you by email.
- Patent attorney review: on your request, Korean patent attorney Youngbong Yoo reviews a trademark or report and gives you an opinion within 3 business days of the request. Representation in oppositions, trials and other proceedings requires a separate engagement.
Article 3 (Nature of results)
- Search results and identical/similar classifications are machine judgments made under criteria designed by Korean patent attorney Youngbong Yoo. They are not legal advice on any individual matter, and decisions based on them are your own.
- The Service uses data provided by the Ministry of Intellectual Property (MOIP) and the Korea Institute of Patent Information, and public examination records. If data arrives late or is missing from the source, reports and alerts may not reflect it.
- For a judgment under Korean trademark law, please use "Get patent attorney review".
Article 4 (Sign-up and log-in)
- You sign up with an email address and log in with a link or code sent by email. There is no password.
- Do not forward your log-in link to anyone.
- Children under 14 may not sign up.
Article 5 (Passphrase)
- Your trademark search keywords and reports are locked with a passphrase you set. The Firm does not receive your passphrase and cannot read the contents.
- If you forget your passphrase, the Firm cannot open your reports either. You will need to start a new trademark search.
- When you click "Get patent attorney review" or "Request review of the whole report", that trademark or report alone is re-locked so that the patent attorney can read it.
Article 6 (Beta service and paid tracked trademarks)
- During the beta period, each account may have 3 active keywords and 3 tracked trademarks free of charge, and the number of searches you can start per day is limited. Accounts chosen by the Firm, such as those that sent us feedback, receive higher limits.
- Free use lasts 30 days from sign-up. After that, periodic reports and daily checks of your tracked trademarks stop, and we let you know by email. Your past reports stay available.
- You may add tracked trademarks by paying for them under Article 6-2. During the beta, the tracked trademarks you pay for are added on top of the free tracked trademarks. When the beta ends, only the tracked trademarks you pay for count toward your limit.
- We will announce the end of the beta, or any change to fees, at least 30 days in advance, in our notices and by email. We will not charge you without your separate consent: each payment, and each monthly plan, is approved by you in PayPal.
Article 6-2 (Fees and payment)
- Fees are charged per tracked trademark: 10.00 USD per tracked trademark per month on the monthly plan, which renews automatically until you cancel; 27.00 USD per tracked trademark for 3 months paid upfront (10% off); 48.00 USD per tracked trademark for 6 months paid upfront (20% off). The total for the number of tracked trademarks you choose is shown before you pay.
- Payments are processed by PayPal. The Firm does not receive or store your card details. Monthly plans require a PayPal account. Plans paid upfront may also be paid by card without a PayPal account where PayPal offers it.
- A plan starts on the day of payment and runs by calendar month from that day. If you choose to extend a plan paid upfront, the new plan starts when your current prepaid period ends. A monthly plan is charged again on the same day each month.
- To change the number of tracked trademarks on a monthly plan, add another monthly plan, or cancel a plan and start a new one.
- When a plan ends, is cancelled after its last paid month, or is refunded, the tracked trademarks paid under it no longer count toward your limit. Tracked trademarks you already have stay visible, but you cannot add new ones while you are over your limit, and tracked trademarks over your limit are not checked daily.
Article 6-3 (Cancellation and refunds)
- Monthly plan: you may cancel at any time on your account page or in your PayPal account. Cancelling stops future charges. The month already paid is not refunded, and the plan stays active until the end of that month.
- Plans paid upfront: you may cancel by emailing contact@ipdabom.com. Because the service for each month starts on its first day, the month in progress on the day you cancel is not refunded. The remaining full months are refunded at the discounted monthly amount for each tracked trademark: 9.00 USD a month on the 3-month plan and 8.00 USD a month on the 6-month plan. For example, if you cancel a 6-month plan for 5 tracked trademarks (240.00 USD) during its second month, 160.00 USD (4 months × 8.00 USD × 5) is refunded.
- A plan that has not started yet (an extension) is refunded in full.
- Refunds are made through PayPal to the original payment method. We request the refund from PayPal within 3 business days of receiving your request.
- If the Service is not provided as described in these terms, you may ask for a refund under the applicable law regardless of this article.
Article 7 (Your obligations)
- Do not sign up with another person's email address or use another person's account.
- Do not make automated bulk queries or interfere with the operation of the Service.
- Do not copy data from the Service in bulk for use in another service.
- If you breach these obligations, the Firm may suspend or limit your use after notice, or, in urgent cases, suspend first and notify you promptly.
Article 8 (Changes and interruptions)
- The Service may pause for server maintenance or for reasons on the data providers' side. Where we know in advance, we post a notice.
- We will announce changes to the Service or its termination at least 30 days in advance, in our notices and by email.
Article 9 (Liability)
- The Firm compensates you for damage caused by its intent or negligence.
- The Firm is not liable, absent its intent or negligence, for damage arising from the nature of results under Article 3, delays or omissions by data providers, natural disasters or other causes beyond its control.
Article 10 (Closing your account)
You may close your account at any time with "Close account and delete data" in My reports. What is deleted and when is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Article 11 (Changes to these terms)
We announce changes on this page and in our notices at least 7 days before they take effect, or at least 30 days before and also by email if the change is unfavorable to you.
Article 12 (Governing law and jurisdiction)
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will first be resolved by consultation; any lawsuit is brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
